Danielle Krupa, Owner and Founder
I am the Owner and Founder of Wellness Made Natural, a business I built as an extension of my work as a health-supportive chef, nutritional consultant and enthusiast of all things culinary and wellness related. I am also the author of the Feeding Audrey blog, where I explore the world of cooking healthy kid-friendly meals.
Food has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. So much so that in the 6th grade my science fair project was dedicated to the link between what kids ate for breakfast and their grade point average (for the record, those who ate a healthier breakfast did indeed have a higher G.P.A.). This interest was most likely the result of being blessed with a hippy mother who didn’t allow junk food in the house and always had the latest and most cutting edge health food on hand. Today I continue to eat a health conscious diet; I love fish, whole grains and fresh seasonal vegetables. I do not like foods with over-processed ingredients I can’t pronounce or foods that have been tampered with by science. I practice Ashtanga yoga, I run more miles a week than I ever thought possible, and I am trying to meditate more. That being said, I definitely indulge in my fair share of weekend decadence. The quest is balance and moderation.
Wellness Made Natural is dedicated to that quest, to the ideas of prevention, to treating the whole person, and to creating your optimal health.
I live in downtown Manhattan with my husband and two daughters.
I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Relations and from The City College of New York with an M.A. in Psychology (in the area of cognitive neuroscience). It was while working on my Master’s Thesis that I started to explore the inter-connectedness of mind and body and it’s effect on health. I continued that exploration working in healthcare research for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College. In 2010 I completed my health counseling certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the chef’s training program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health. During this time I created Wellness Made Natural, a business aimed at educating and helping others on the ever-evolving quest for health, balance and good food. In addition, I have interned and freelanced for several top NYC restaurants and catering companies as well as the test kitchen and nutrition department of Good Housekeeping Magazine.
Jenné’s first love is food. She is a self proclaimed addict of plant based food that is delicious, healthy and beautiful. Lured into the kitchen at a young age by her grandmother, Jenné quickly learned that the most important ingredient in every dish is love.
Primarily self taught, she has had the privilege of working one on one with fantastic chefs. A recent summer spent in Thailand taught her the beauty and subtlety of Thai cooking. Now it is her dream to share her passion; and wake America up to the reality that total wellness can be achieved through delicious and healthy food. Jenné is currently studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
